Hey what's up guys?

That was really cool what you guys did. When I heard about it I thought it was goingto be some old guy just saying, "Don't do drugs blah blah blah..." But you guys made it cool. Good job you convinced me. :-)

Dear Real Life,

You were at my high school today. I just wanted to let you know that the group did an awesome job. I have been having a hard time and Monday I decided to commit suicide. I just felt like there was no reason to live. I was going to go to school Tuesday (which was the day you came) and have the last day with my friends. Little did I know that Real Life would show up. I thought I was the only one with problems but now I see a way out! I realized that it is so stupid to take my own life. I just wanted to let you know that it may seem like people are not listening and you see no point in trying to help kids but we do listen and if it was not for you guys I would not have seen the right way to handle situations. I think what Real Life has going on is a really good program. I hope Real Life will come back again. I hope one day I can somehow help and be a positive rolemodel for others.

Hello. You recently came to my middle school and performed your very touching show. Even though I have never been anywhere near drugs, and don't plan on it any time soon, I felt like it has made me a betterperson. I believe that you have educated our school with the  knowlege  that we will need to know in the future. Thank you for what you have done.

I just wanted to say that the asembly today at my high school was awesome! Absolutely wonderful! And I especially  enjoyed the last performance  which really made me  trun away from things that harm me. I don't think I would have learned any more in my Algebra clas then I did going to the assembly. It was a great assembly and I give my respect to everyone that was involved with this great demonstration of what drugs and other harmful things that teens have to face sooner or later that can do no good to them. So thank you for the assembly and I hope you come back soon because it would be an honer to see your presentation again. Again, THANKS!

Hi! I'm a junior high student and you did a performance at my school today and I LOVED it. So did MANY of my peers. I am mainly e-mailing you because I wanted to tell you that out of the many assemblies we see, not many affect me but Real Life did. I am going to stand behind all of my decisions strongly, and the "12 Ways to Say NO" skit really helped. Thank you so much and keep doing what you are doing. You're really making a difference.

Dear Real Life Communications,

I have never been so sonnected with a skit as I was with your skit about suicide and other teen problems. I wish I could express to you the gratitude I felt when seeing that I was not alone in my problems and that there are other people  whose creativity is boundless. I am a writer who is stuck in a school that only cares about the latest football scores. I'm tired of it and many a time have been struggling with my emotions and suicidal thoughts. I wish I could tell you my relief to see that I am not the only teen with half a brain and still feels lost. I am not what you could call "popular" and I feel very alone my current education situation. In short, all of my real friends that I really feel challenged and supported by are teachers. My parents are divorcing, which is another flood of thoughts that I'm still swimming through. I am losing my mind at everything that goes on durring the day, yet today I was comforted by the fact that there are people like you out there that can show you that you can survive.  Someday I would like to join you and bring the message to others like me. Who knows, maybe I could find a friend my own age. Being 13 can feel endless... But now I know it's not. Thank you.

Hey RLC!

I'm a junior high student and I wanted to let you know that y'all's performance was great! It made me realize that that bad stuff really does happen to people, it's not just a thing to do. Now I know not let ANYONE convence me to smoke, drink, and have sex untill merriage it's just the way to go about it! And y'all helped a lot, not because you had to, but because you wanted to and I apreciate that so much!

Today you came to my school, Covington Middle School, and you made me think of all these things that have been something I usually don't think of but its like more of relating to our society today. Involving all these problems every person usually goes through, something like my cousins problem. And every person  that participated made a 100% wonderful! wonderful! GREAT job. Every thing that was spoken and acted out in the performance was really touching. Some people at my school started to cry because of there past of the problems that you talked about on how it was running through there family.  But with the blinking  lights, the clothing, and all the drama made the show even better.  But the #1 thing that gave the show a real hit, was the message.  In all, I email you to say that you guys rock in every way, and I really wished that the performance was a lot... a lot ... longer because it really was good. AND EVERY THING WAS WONDERFUL AND ESPECIALLY EVERYBODY OF YOU, #1 WORK THE WHOLE............. WAY.

Hey, today you performed at Amargosa Creek Middle School .... i thought your performance was amazing ...  i was crying because I know someone who ruined their life like that ... and it was really touching ... I just really hope that I can see you perform again .... and your awesome crew

Today while you were at Lumberton High School I watched the skits and everything and I just wanted to say thanks and that you guys made a great impact on my life. Keep up the good work!

Hi, I go to Manor High School and I just wanted to write yall and say you guys did a very good job last Thursday. I loved the show, usually the people we get to do programs like that are very very boring, or they show pictures of car wrecks and the people after the wrecks which is to depressing and disturbing to even sit  through so people end up walking out and then they dont get the message. But yalls way was awesome I loved every minute of it!! Id have to say my fave part was the skit with the anger, drugs, sex, and suicide it touched me the most, i think it touched everyone the most because everyone couldn't stop talking about it, or stop singing the song that went with it.  Well I just wanted to tell yall how good of a job yall did and how great the program is and how great you all are for doing it. I loved your presentation for the schools!

A group performed at my high school, in Austin, Texas and I was amazed at the great job they did. What really won me over was the performance using P.O.D.'s "Youth of the Nation" song - that was pure genius! Amazing! I feel sorry for those who could not understand what you were trying to say, but me and my friends understood all too well. Well, I just wanted to say that you all were incredible, keep it up and best of luck in the future!  I just wanted to let ya'll know how much your perfomance has inspired me. My parents tell me all the time  to stay away from drugs and alcohol.I already know that that is the right thing to do.

When you came to my school(Maywood) and performed, I realized how important my life is and how I could totally ruin it by drugs and alcohol. I understand how people can get freaked out by your message about suicide! My friend tried to commit suicide last year by taking 10 tylenols. Thank god she failed. I e-mailed her about how great her life is and how she shouldn't want to take her life away. She has been great ever since and i'm so thankful ! Well I've never tried drugs and hopefully never will, but I have drank a small amount of alcohol. It wasn't even that good! I totally regret it now! Well, I hope you read this and keep performing because you have changed a lot of lives!!!

i just wanted to let you guys know how great you and your performance was.  i liked how you acted out the different lives and made them funny but then when each team member came out, they told their story seriously. i loved when the guys came out with shirts that said drugs, alcohol, sex, suicide, and two of the girls kind of "danced" with them (like people decide to dance with drugs and then get hurt).  when there were blinking lights and the girls were stuck inside the circle of drugs, alcohol, sex, and suicide, it looked so real (with the girls reaching out and spinning etc.) my friends and i all cried.  i guess we never realized before that this stuff can happen to us!  going into highschool next year, i know there will be parties, and probably drugs and alcohol and i don't want to get into that.  what i am trying to say is that i loved how you and your team lectured us without actually lecturing (if you know what i mean?)  and i know i will NOT get into anything harmful to myself or others.  Thank you for helping me see that (if we do these things) this can happen to me.

i am a 6th grader at b.l. garza (the school you went to perform today) i just wanted to say that your message touched me and alot of other people there i could tell cause after the show everyone was confessing their true feelings. i think you all did a great job and dont quit setting a good example for kids my age it really does help the hour you gave us made a BIG difference thank you hope to see you soon

Everyone of ya'll did a good job doing that performance at Wynn Seale Academy and I will like to thank ya'll  for showing what will happen if you follow through those bad decisions and friends. It was a good play and I know it took ya'll a lot of time to figure out what to do for us and ya'll did a special thing spending it on us especially me.All of ya'll change some of those students today because I know there's plenty of kids that are making wrong decisions and now I know that they decided not to follow the wrong lane.

I go to Ridgeview Middle School. I thought what you did out there today was great!!! It really sent me and  the people around me a powerful message. Especially the last skit of the girl falling itno a life of anger, drugs,  sex, and suicide. It was really heart breaking to think that kids my age actually begin to fall into that trap  and sometimes can never get out and it takes their lives. The message you sent really got in to my head and I think it will stay there. I'm unique and I can change my future, but I don’t need drugs and other things to ruin my future. You all were great. The more kids you talk to the more you guys reach your goal of changing  the world in this way. Keep goin' !!!I am from Covington Middle School and I just wanted to say that your presentation really touched me. I loved  how you weren't just telling us how drugs and sex were bad but you were acting it out and telling us some personal stories. I think that the best approach is comedy, but still being serious and that's exactly what you did.

Thanks.

I just wanted to thank you for taking time to come to Wheeler CLC in on Friday.  Your performance was very moving.  The powerful message in the last skit had me choking back tears.  I have faced some of the challenges and troubles in life that your members talked about.  And, at the same time, I can’t imagine going through some of the others.  I think everyone struggles with real life in one way or another and we all have to find a way to cope.  I am only about 10-12 years older than most of my students, 6 years out of high school.  As a first year teacher sometimes I think I can relate to my students, and other times I am shocked easily by some of their lives.  I care as much about what they learn from my character as I do about whether or not they know how to solve equations (I teach math).  As I watched the faces of my students, I have hope that at least of few of them were getting the message.  If even one or two students keep the ideas and images you presented in the back of their minds, and use those to guide their decisions and attitudes in the future, then you have done an awesome thing.  Thank you for caring, and keep up the wonderful work.

This response is coming from staff, students and PTA.  The response from everyone was very positive; the students remembered and were singing the "raps".  The teachers expressed that the message was clear and presented in a captivating, fun, and meaningful way.  The PTA asked when we could have you back!  Your student "staff" were polite and professional.  Thank you for sharing your talents and information with us. We would recommend your program without reservation!

Your group just performed on our campus, here in Corpus Christi.  I'd like to applaud you for your hard work and dedication for this cause in bringing awareness to the youth of our world.

I am a teacher at Alton Memorial Junior High and you all were here today.  I just wanted to say thanks for

the positive message you bring. I know it sometimes can be a thankless job, but you are doing a great thing and you are appreciated!!!  If you just touch one life, it would be worth it!

Thanks
